Kirsten Gary's inquiries Pakistani team's cohesion, physical condition, and talent level following their elimination from the T20 World Cup 2024

LAHORE: According to head coach Gary Kirsten of Pakistan, only players who prioritize teamwork, fitness, and talent development would be included in the squad moving forward.


In an open conversation with the Pakistani team in the locker room following their elimination from the current T20 World Cup 2024, Kirsten reportedly stated that the players' level of fitness is inadequate.

According to Kirsten, the squad lags significantly behind the rest of the world in terms of talent level.

Even with extensive cricket experience, nobody is sure which shot to play at what time. Kirsten continued. 

The former cricket player from South Africa added that he has observed a lack of cohesiveness throughout the team ever since joining. Despite working with numerous teams, Kirsten claimed that he has never encountered a situation like this one before and that players don't support one another.

Kirsten has made it very obvious that players who improve on the aforementioned items will be included on the team; if not, they will be cut.

The last Twenty20 World Cup 2024 match took place on Sunday at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida, with Pakistan defeating Ireland by three wickets. 

Pakistan's shock defeat to the USA and loss to India meant they were eliminated from the event before the Super 8.

The win against Ireland ensured that Pakistan finished third in Group A with two wins from four games.
